Failed to correctly acquire installer_nodejs_windows.msi file: CRC error when installing Aptana Studio

Recently I was trying to install the latest version of Aptana Studio and I came across the error “Failed to correctly acquire installer_nodejs_windows.msi file: CRC error”. The screenshot below is what it looked like just incase you are experiencing the same thing.

I really wanted to install the Aptana Studio software so I could manage and edit multiple websites from the one location. So with that said, I did a little bit of research and came up with the solution to the problem.

Step One

Simply, download the Node JS Windows Installer directly from the Aptana website.

Step Two

Run the installer after it finishes downloading.

Step Three

Restart the Aptana Studio installation file and you should no longer receive the “Failed to correctly acquire installer_nodejs_windows.msi file: CRC error” message!

 

That should be all you need to do to fix this annoying error message. Hopefully the developers will find a way to fix this for future installers so we don’t have to use this fix anymore.
